Role Description

As a wind and turbine performance engineer you will be central to the operations of OX2. The primary focus of the role will be to conduct wind and site modelling and analyses, including determination of wind resource and site characteristics. In addition to modelling and analyses, you will also conduct AEP and uncertainty calculations. Furthermore, you will develop the layout of wind turbine sites, with the focus of optimizing turbine configurations based on conformance with standards, power production, and construction considerations. You will be a member of the wind and turbine performance team who’s work spans the entire organisation, connected to the operations of the transaction-, project management-and construction teams. The role also involves close contact with third party stakeholders such as, turbine suppliers, clients, authorities etc, where you will function as an expert advisor within the field of wind power.


Your tasks could involve, but are not limited to:

  • Development of wind turbine site layouts and optimization of turbine configurations based on conformance with standards, power production and construction considerations
  • Technical support to customers, consultants and colleagues regarding turbine performance and site specifications
  • Performing wind analysis, modelling of wind, AEP and uncertainty calculations
  • Perform noise and shadow calculations
  • Design wind farm layouts and suggest suitable turbine types
  • Support in contract negotiations of power curve and noise warranties
  • Reviewing and questioning third party analysis of AEP, noise, ice etc.
  • Participate as expert advice in negotiations with the investor’s advisor on wind & turbine performance related question

At the same time, it is crucial that you are a team player, perceptive to the needs of the organisation and various stakeholders. You have an “outside the box” approach to solving problems and an eagerness to develop and learn from your colleagues and the organisation. It is important that you dare to challenge established processes and norms, seek new perspectives and have a high delivery capacity. Qualifications and Experience
You have an academical background, min. Bachelor’s degree but preferably a Master´s degree in the field of Engineering or Meteorology.

Preferably, you have 2+ years of experience as a Wind & Site Engineer, or in a similar role with equivalent experience. It is a merit if you have experience from the Nordics, with an understanding of how freezing conditions affect production output of wind farms. You should also have knowledge of wind turbines and the technical properties of different models.


Proficient in English, written and oral.
