BoP Procurement Manager
Lead global and local sourcing for Balance of Plant in onshore wind, solar PV and storage projects, drive high-impact procurement in a fast-growing international renewables team
We’re looking for a dedicated and entrepreneurial Procurement Manager to join our global Procurement team, focusing on Balance of Plant and Grid. This is a central role within our growing international procurement organization, responsible for managing procurement of EPC/Design&Build contracts for civil and electrical balance of plant, HV/MV substations, transmission lines/cables and key supply agreements, such as power transformers, for our onshore wind, solar and storage projects globally.
As Procurement Manager, you will help shape the way we procure both direct and indirect goods and services in these emerging area. You will work cross-functionally with technical, commercial, legal, and construction teams – driving competitive, high-quality and risk-optimized procurement across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement processes for EPC/D&B contracts for BoP (Balance of Plant), eBOP and others.
- Lead procurement processes for key supply agreements such as main transformers and others.
- Manage procurement activities including RFQs, tender evaluations, supplier negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance, costs, and market dynamics in the global solar market.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders on budgeting, technical specifications, construction planning and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate post-contract activities including claims handling, insurance matters, and performance reviews.
- Drive sourcing of new suppliers in existing or new markets and manage supplier qualification processes and compliance monitoring
- Contribute to the development of procurement strategies, tools, templates, and best practices in a scaling organization.
Your Profile
We’re looking for someone with a pragmatic mindset and strong interpersonal skills – someone who can thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and take ownership from day one. Ideally, you bring:
- Proven experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within energy, grid and infra or similar technology sectors.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (e.g. FIDIC, Orgalim).
- International market understanding, particularly for components and systems with global supply chains. Local market understanding, particularly South to Eastern Europe for civil infra and grid construction market
- Ability to work across functions and cultures with a collaborative mindset.
- High sense of ownership, structure, and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English and Italian, Romanian is a strong plus.
- Relevant academic background in engineering, business, or related fields.
Location & Travel
This role is preferably based in Milan, Italy. Travel within Europe, especially Romania, and also other markets we are currently active in, may be required.
