Procurement Manager Energy Storage

We are now looking for an Energy Storage Procurement Manager who will be a vital part of the OX2 Energy Storage business organisation. As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for the sourcing and procurement of Energy Storage systems and insurances for the successful construction of energy storage projects.

The responsibility covers energy storage solutions, including battery units, power conversion systems, control systems, transformers and switchgear, depending on project specific needs. On short and mid-term, the focus will be procurement of integrated lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems. However, you will be keeping track of opportunities for applications of other energy storage technologies, as well as other potential procurement models.

You will be responsible for managing relations with internal and external stakeholders that are part of project teams supporting the procurement process: suppliers, local balance-of-plant contractors, legal advisors, consultants as well as OX2 engineering, construction, transaction, finance and development teams.

You will be able to decide on the strategy, negotiation, commercial topics and risk management of the contracts and the procurement process. You will closely cooperate with OX2’s procurement organisation for civil and electrical balance-of-plant works and jointly deliver a complete EPC and Long-term Service Agreement solution for each project.

In the role you will identify potential suppliers, ensure supply needs in terms of quantity and time to the agreed specifications, and negotiate the supply and O&M contracts.

Regular travels within OX2 markets, to supplier premises across Europe and battery cell manufacturers, for example in China are part of the role. 

Your main responsibilities:

• Procuring energy storage solutions and insurances for OX2’s construction project
• Procurement from suppliers with responsibility to negotiate and contract suppliers aligned on OX2’s needs for project equipment forecasts.
• Contract agreed OX2 terms on quality, technical and performance demands.
• Support the product design team in component choices regarding implications on price and contractual terms and risks
• Managing ESG due diligence processes
• Claim management
• Stakeholder management within the procurement process, involving the different internal and as well as external teams
• Manage documentation in procurement and supplier due diligence processes
• Contribute to evolving the supply and long-term service contract templates and the way OX2 works to lean the procurement process
• Provide input to the benchmarks for energy storage solutions’ CAPEX and OPEX development across OX2 markets
• Maintaining up-to-date supply side market intelligence and maintaining a good relationship with suppliers and manufacturers

About you:

We believe that you have at least 5 years of work experience within BESS procurement with a commercial mindset and an understanding of engineering aspects. You are a driven problem solver with good communication skills who is collaborative and engaging with teams across the company. 

Your qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering or Business
• Experience of more than 5 years in BESS procurement and related contracts for utility-scale projects (>30 MW/MWh), with projects in several countries
• Several years’ experience from working in a multinational organisation
• Highly skilled in commercial terms, negotiation, risk identification and mitigation
• English, (fluency required). Fluency in Swedish, Finnish, Italian, Polish, Chinese meriting
• Good knowledge in setting up procedures and arranging processes and templates

Location: Stockholm. Alternative locations with existing OX2 office can be considered.
