About the role

As OX2 expands its global footprint and accelerates its digital transformation, the IT team is now seeking a leader who handles both strategic planning and tactical execution. This role sits at the intersection of advanced AI development, robust IT infrastructure, and cutting-edge data engineering. 

You will be expected to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with technical challenges, while also shaping long-term strategies for innovation and growth. Collaborating closely with data scientists, software developers, IT experts, and business stakeholders, you will ensure our systems remain agile, secure, and optimized for AI-powered applications.

Your main responsibilities

The role is broad and offers many opportunities but can be structured into five main areas of responsibility.

Strategic Planning & Leadership
• Develop and implement a strategic plan for AI development and supporting infrastructure aligned with our business goals.
• Lead cross-functional projects, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

Tactical Execution & Hands-On Development
• Collaborate directly with data scientists and developers to design, develop, and optimize scalable AI solutions and data pipelines across hybrid environments including cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premises systems.
• Act as a technical lead, actively engaging in hands-on problem solving and system optimization.

Infrastructure & Automation
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure to ensure high performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform and automate processes with Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.

Security & Compliance
• Implement and enforce best practices for network and data security, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST) across both AI-driven and traditional IT systems.
• Manage identity and access solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Drive continuous process innovation by integrating emerging technologies and methodologies that enhance our AI capabilities and infrastructure resilience.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

We are looking for someone who

• Demonstrates the ability to think long-term while also being willing and capable to dive deep into technical details.
• Possesses strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid infrastructures, as well as proficiency with AI/ML development frameworks and data engineering practices.
• Is proficient in programming and scripting (Python, PowerShell) with a solid understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Brings proven project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects from inception to completion.
• Is passionate about leveraging data and AI to drive innovation, staying current with emerging technologies, and continuously improving processes.

Qualifications

• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, IT, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant certifications in cloud computing or AI (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer) are a strong advantage.
• Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
